The Scoop...

It’s been hectic over the last year or so.

My first release “A Letter from Eye to I” is now available on itunes.  If you don’t have it yet, go grab it.  Take a listen to the snippets and if you dig it... you know, dig it.

If you’re more of a “Cd in the hand, blast this newfangled download thing” kind of cat, go to my Place where you can get actual Cd’s... and get it.  There are 2 records available. “Letter,” and an all by myself in the lab effort entitled “Things.”  It’s a fun, schizophrenic, kind of all over the place record that I made to just get some of this music out of my brain.  There’ll be lots more of those in the near future.

Of course the Marion Meadows tour is always awesome.  I’ve been with him as  a keyboardist and Vocalist for almost six years and it’s helped to shape my understanding of this thing we do.  We hit the Smooth Jazz Cruise to the Bahamas in February.  I think we made a serious Impact.  We had a great time while were at it.

I also went out to Marion’s Home in Arizona, and worked on his recently released Heads up int recording. “Secrets.”   We went through a lot music and settled on a tune I wrote entitled “Playtime.”  I produced and sang the record and Marion absolutely crushed the sax performance.  Dig the link and take a listen.

I had the pleasure of touring most of last year with Najee.  I met some spectacular folks, who I’ll introduce you to later, and learned from one of the masters.  The Cape Town, SA , and St.Lucia Jazz festivals were particular highlights for me.

While we were on the road and in sound checks and things, Najee and I wrote a tune together that ended up making his record.  It’s called “Mind over Matter” Which also happens to be the title of the album.  (Not yet released).

The second I get a link  I’ll share.

I was asked last year to serve as the Musical Director for Maysa.  What an amazing experience that’s been!  We’ve done some spectacular concerts, most recently the Capitol Jazz Festival, where we hosted N’Dea Davenport and Caron Wheeler in the “Underground Divas” show.  The band is spectacular, and as quiet as it’s kept, they all happen to be life long friends of mine.  Nothing like being on the road with the squad.  Cheers Gentlemen!

Having shared the stage with Nick Collione, Will DowningNorman Brown and many others, it’s been a wonderful ride.

It’s only just beginning.  Check back often and I’ll keep you posted.
